The present volume 10 of the publication series of the Foundation of the Hessian Lawyers' Association is based on a student essay competition advertised by the Foundation in 2018 on the topic "Proposals for the reform of asylum law in Germany". Lawyer Prof. Dr. Roland Fritz, M.A., former President of the Administrative Court in Frankfurt am Main, and Dr. Stefan Fuhrmann, Chief Magistrate Director and Head of the Legal Office of the City of Frankfurt am Main, selected the seven works presented here by the nine prizewinners from the many submissions from all over Germany in the essay competition; the Foundation of the Hessian Lawyers' Association awarded it a monetary prize and is pleased to make this volume accessible to a broader public.

Lennart Franke, born on December 12, 1996, has been studying law at the Friedrich Schiller University Jena since April 2016, with a focus on German and European business law.

Neel Herold, born on August 5th, 1997, has been studying law at the Friedrich Schiller University Jena since April 2016 with a focus on German and European business law.

Laura Maria Wastlhuber (born October 28, 1990) studied law from 2010-2015 with a focus on legal history and legal philosophy, and from 2015-2018 value-oriented management (degree: Master of Arts) at the University of Passau. The author is currently doing her doctorate in the criminal law department at the Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität in Munich and has been a legal trainee at the OLG Munich since 2018.

Hao-Hao Wu has been studying law at the Ludwig Maximilians University in Munich since October 2014.

My Hanh Pham studied law at the Ludwig Maximilians University in Munich. She is currently working as a research assistant in a major German law firm and is a volunteer at the Refugee Law Clinic Munich.

Julian Seidl is studying law at the Goethe University in Frankfurt am Main. As part of his university focus area studies, he specialized in social law and migration law. As a member of the Goethe Uni Law Clinic, he voluntarily advises those seeking advice in the areas of residence, asylum and social law.

Pia Reinhold, born in Hamburg in 1996, has been studying law at the University of Hamburg since April 2015. One year at the Alma Mater Studiodorum Università di Bologna, Italy. Since October 2018 she has been specializing in international and European law.

Julius Adler, born in Hamburg in 1996, has been studying law at the University of Hamburg since autumn 2015, with a current focus on European and international law

Martin Meier has been studying law at the University of Jena since spring 2016, with a focus on criminal science. He is interested in international criminal law and criminology.
