Dr. Mark C. Hilgard: The Frankfurt lawyer Dr. Mark C. Hilgard has more than 35 years of legal experience in commercial law. After studying and legal clerkship in Freiburg i.Br. he was a partner in an international law firm in Frankfurt am Main for many years and headed the German practice group “Litigation/Arbitration”. He has acted both as an arbitrator and as a party representative in numerous, in particular international, arbitration proceedings. His extensive expertise in cross-border legal issues is also expressed in his active involvement in many internationally oriented clubs and associations and in his numerous publications. For many years he was President of the UIA's Litigation Commission and Chairman of the Corporate and Business Law Committee of the American Chamber of Commerce in Germany (AmCham), where he also chaired the Rhine-Main chapter. He is also vice president of the Rhein-Main e.V. business club and has been president of the American-German Business Club Frankfurt since 2019. Hilgard founded the law firm Hilgard-Law in Frankfurt's Westend (www. hilgard-law.de) on January 1st, 2019, which deals exclusively with commercial law issues. In addition to his work as a lawyer, he has been honorary chairman of the Foundation of the Hessian Lawyers' Association for many years, where the promotion of young legal professionals is particularly important to him.
