The aortic aneurysm is a common disease that is particularly relevant due to the feared complication of rupture with an extraordinarily high mortality rate. The valid recording of aortic growth is essential, since therapeutic decisions that are relevant for the patient's outcome depend on it. In the present work, the growth behavior of the aorta was quantified, CT-morphological and clinical growth predictors were derived and growth rates were compared on the basis of different parameters.

Born in 1987, born and raised in Leipzig. Joined the Bundeswehr in 2005 as a conscript and in 2006 changed to a career as a medical officer candidate. From 2006-2012 studied human medicine at the University of Leipzig. Preparation of the doctoral thesis in the Department of Diagnostic and Interventional Radiology (Chief Physician: Prof. Dr. M. Gutberlet), University of Leipzig - Heart Center. Since April 2013 assistant doctor in the department for general, visceral and thoracic surgery (Head: Colonel Prof. Dr. R. Schwab), Bundeswehr Central Hospital Koblenz.
