Against the background of the scientific discussion about the economic-political implementation options of the sustainability goal of the federal government to reduce the designated area to 30 ha/day by 2020, the book examines the reaction and thus the adaptation possibilities of companies as demanders of space to the reduction the reallocation of land. For this purpose, a company survey of small and medium-sized companies in four German planning regions took place. The author first presents the status quo of the use of commercial space by companies and then shows which adaptation options are available to companies in the event of a reduction in the allocation of new space, as well as which economic policy control impulses could induce them to use sustainable space.
