Afrah Eltayeb Mohammed is native to Sudan. She was born at Elginaid, Gazira state. In the University of Khartoum, Faculty of Agriculture, Department of Biochemistry and Food technology, she finished her B.Sc. and M.Sc. in 2000 and 2004, respectively. With Gottlieb Daimler and Carl Benz Foundation fellowship she acquired her PhD degree (June 2006 - November 2009) on the Quality of Plants Products, Department of Crop Sciences, Faculty of Agriculture, Göttingen University, Germany.
